Grants for making your home more sustainable
If you want to make your home more sustainable but do not have enough savings, it is worth exploring what support your local council can offer. There are also national grants available. We have outlined the key loans and grants for making your home more energy-efficient.

Sustainability loan: Local government grant for sustainability
Looking to make your home more sustainable with a government-backed loan? That is definitely an option! Various local councils and provinces encourage sustainable home improvements by offering the Sustainability Loan.
On the SVn website, you can enter the amount you wish to borrow. It will calculate your monthly repayments and check whether the loan is available in your council or province.
Before you can apply for a Sustainability Loan, your local council will assess whether you meet the conditions — these may vary depending on your location.
Energy savings loan
The National Heat Fund offers the Energy Savings Loan in partnership with other organisations. These loans are available for both private homeowners and Owners' Associations (VvEs).
With the Energy Savings Loan, you can borrow up to €65,000 at a fixed, relatively low interest rate. Early repayments can be made without any penalty.

Sustainability grants from the national government
The national government also provides financial support for making your home more sustainable. Grants are available for insulating walls, roofs, floors, and HR++ glass, connecting to a heat network, or installing a solar water heater or heat pump.
