Jan refinanced his mortgage and saved a third on his monthly payments

'Both at work and in my spare time, I spend a lot of time with cars. My main hobby is refurbishing old Volkswagen cars. Currently, I have a Volkswagen van and a Beetle in my garage.

That garage is also the reason we moved here back then. The houses with garages were a lot more affordable here than in the Hellevoetsluis area, where I am originally from. We can do more enjoyable things, go out for dinner every month, and go on holiday more often. Recently, we even took the Volkswagen van to Scotland. We used to manage just fine, but we had to budget more carefully—especially with my expensive hobby of restoring cars.
